Prison drama A Prophet sweeps French Oscars


Hard-hitting prison drama A prophet has won nine awards at the Csar, the French equivalent of the Oscars.
Jacques Audiard film became the best film at the ceremony, with additional prizes Actor Tahar Rahim and the Director himself.
A prophet – a prisoner is illiterate involved in crimes during a period of six years in prison – is the best foreign film Oscar 2010th
Actor Harrison Ford has received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the event in Paris.
Isabelle Adjani was named best actress for the drama school the day of the Rock, and Clint Eastwood Gran Torino was voted best foreign film.

Audiard thanked the many ex-convicts who appeared as extras in the film and helped create a realistic atmosphere.
